I like to check out other blogs on subjects I am interested in and see what types of cool new things they have discovered. I recently found a post on ilibrarian about Netflix. “Netflix, the video rental service and website launched an API [application programming interface] yesterday that will enable access to its database of over 100,000 film and television titles. Netflix members have rated more than 2 billion titles in the collection. The API is free for commercial use and for mashup creation” (ilibrarian).

And Netflix has a blog if you can believe it.
The Gallery is not officially up a running yet, but you can still post and discuss your creative ideas for Netflix here.
I happen to love Netflix and am excited to see the company continue to broaden it’s services. As a librarian I am always using IMDB (internet movie database) and I love it too. I wonder if this new service from netflix will offer comparable information? It will be interesting to see where these services go or how closely they will merge. I noticed a month or so ago that users could watch movies and TV on IMDB and this is now a new service for them. Hum….
